Accessibility Statement

Welcome to the Careers Scotland website.

It allows you to access all Careers Scotland services from a single point on the Internet and aims to deliver information in plain English.

Businesses and members of the public have helped shape the look and feel of the site. We want it to be as easy to use as possible. However, we also welcome feedback on how we can improve it.

Accessibility

Careers Scotland is committed to making its services accessible to everyone, including those with additional support needs. If you use a screen reader, or some other device to help you view the internet this site should be accessible to you.

In addition, to help the partially sighted or those with reading difficulties, we have included the facility to ‘Listen to this page’ on many of our pages. This does not require the installation of specialist software.

Most of the site conforms to Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).  We also plan to fix the few remaining issues that prevent our web site from reaching WCAG Level AA.

Some web browsers offer an alternative way to the mouse in following navigation links by using keyboard access keys. To use an access key hold down the Alt key and press the appropriate character as detailed below. Then press Return to go to the desired page.

Of course, we're not perfect, and there may be cases where the author of an individual page has inadvertently included content that causes a problem for some users. We constantly check the site to make it as usable as possible.

However, if you spot a problem, please let us know by emailing webadmin.generalenquiries@careers-scotland.org.uk

We'll fix the problem as soon as we can.

Browser Support

Careers Scotland is committed to open standards, such as those created by the World Wide Web Consortium. These standards help make the Web work more reliably for everyone, and are widely supported by governments around the world and by the Internet industry itself.

The Careers Scotland website was designed from the start with older browsers in mind. It has been tested with older versions of Netscape and Internet Explorer. The site also displays well on up to date alternative browsers such as Opera and Mozilla.

Older browsers with poor support for open standards can still access the contents of this Web site although we cannot guarantee how the pages will be displayed to the user.
