Summer Rock School

What is it?

Summer Rock Schools are held in various venues in Ross & Cromarty and Sutherland, and each event culminates in a SHOWCASE where the young people perform live for family and friends. The main messages are:

  • Transferable skills
  • Building confidence
  • Raising self esteem
  • Moving out of the ‘comfort zone’
  • Motivation through music

The participants enjoy a range of workshops including song-writing, music technology, stagecraft, performance and promotion.

Who is it aimed at?

Young people aged from 14 to 19, in school and beyond. Must be interested in music but don’t need a great level of skill. Held in the summer holidays and attracts a good cross-section of young people
