Continuing Professional Development for teachers
Opportunity to visit Space Centre Houston with students
Each year Careers Scotland selects a small number of link teachers to join their own staff as adult supervisors of the students at the two Space Camps in Houston. It is also a valuable learning journey for teachers and is recognised as an EEBL placement.
The twin themes of the summer school are electronics and life sciences with an exciting mix of lectures and workshops. Experts in these fields from NASA, academia and the corporate world provide a significant contribution to the programme and teachers are welcome to attend any or all of the programme’s activities, again as an EEBL placement.
Work closely with CS staff
Science teachers provide valuable feedback on all Space School activity and play a key role in the development of new materials and resources.
Opportunities exist for EEBL placements in Careers Scotland for this purpose and will be promoted through your local science adviser.
Gain better understanding of space industry and career opportunities for pupils in science, technology, engineering and maths
The close links with NASA and ESA provide access to both high quality online resources and the latest developments in the human space programme.
