Career planning support and the Career Planning Journey

For Careers Scotland, Local Partnership Working facilitates working with and through partner organisations to deliver services to people of all ages. Our work focus is on career planning support, we have our own model for careers planning which we refer to as the Career Planning Journey.

Career planning is all about individuals making the most of their life. It involves making well informed decisions and putting these decisions into practice. Good decision making is all about people knowing themselves and what they can offer and relating this to what jobs, courses and training will demand from them. It puts them in control; it gives them the skills that enable them to make decisions that are right for them at different stages in their life.

Working through local partnerships has resulted in the development of innovative ways of delivering career planning products and services to new client groups.
