Objectives for Partnership Working

Partnership Working objectives and outcomes may vary between different local action plans; however, most areas have the following common objectives.

  • Improving access to all-age guidance and learning provision
  • Developing guidance provision which responds to the needs of specific target groups, including disadvantaged and disengaged individuals, who are unlikely to access services by traditional means
  • Building each individual’s capacity to make informed decisions in learning, training and work
  • Building the organisational capacity of community guidance partners to deliver services that respond to the needs of current and potential service users – supporting the integration of guidance into all learning and training
  • Establishing and supporting a local framework which:
    • integrates all-age guidance with Community Planning and Community Learning and Development
    • informs action plans to improve and develop community-based guidance activity
  • Ensuring that the contribution of all-age guidance services within local responses to national policy is recognised.
  • Developing the national profile of guidance activity
  • Utilising local resources effectively through focussed and innovative partnership activity, thus ensuring shared ownership and, wherever possible, shared resourcing of Partnership Working activities
