Psychological Testing Policy

Background

Careers Scotland recognises the need for an explicit policy on psychological testing in the same way as they do to health and safety, equal opportunities, disability and other areas relating to good practice in the management, treatment and care of customers and staff. This policy takes proper account of the British Psychological Society’s Code of Good Practice (See Appendix A). Staff should have a clear understanding of this policy and be confident in communicating it to others.

  • Ensure qualified staff only uses tests.

  • Disseminate and update national strategy on psychological testing to meet organisational aims and objectives
  • Develop protocols for information sharing with partners
  • Develop an effective evaluation framework
  • Ensure support mechanisms for staff actively encourage development of professional competence
