Hardship and discretionary funds

If you have applied for your full student loan but feel you could still face severe financial problems, you may be eligible for a hardship award.

Universities and colleges receive a limited amount of money from the Scottish Government to make awards to students, at their discretion. These are paid either as a grant or a repayable loan.
