Funding for health-related courses

There is special funding for students whose degree courses are in the Professions related to Medicine, Nursing and Midwifery.

The Health Department Scottish Government provides means-tested Bursary and Student Loans for degrees in:

Chiropody/Podiatry
Dental Hygiene
Dietetics
Occupational Therapy
Orthoptics
Physiotherapy
Prosthetics
Radiography
Speech and Language Therapy

Students in the fifth and later years of degree courses in Dentistry and Medicine are also eligible for the Scottish Government Health Department Bursaries.

Since 2002 students of Nursing and Midwifery have received support from the Nursing and Midwifery Student Bursary Fund (NMSB).
