Get Ready for Work
There may be a variety of reasons why you are not yet ready to move into work or training. If you are age 16-19 then Get Ready for Work can give you the help you want.
You will also receive a training allowance and help with travel expenses.
Here are some ways that Get Ready for Work you can help you:
- Life Skills - dealing with aspects of your personal life which might be preventing you making progress e.g. housing, health or managing money.
- Core Skills - developing your skills in reading, writing, number work, ICT, problem solving and working with others.
- Vocational Skills - developing the broad skills necessary to perform a particular job e.g. using hand tools, understanding filing systems, time-keeping and health and safety requirements.
- Personal Skills - identifying your strengths, working on areas which you find more difficult, building up your self-confidence and making better decisions about your future.
