As part of their award for winning the Project Green competition, held at the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow on Wednesday 12th November 2008, the winning team members from Boclair Academy were invited to the BBC state-of-the-art studios to visit Heather Reid (Heather the Weather) and find out how the weather bulletins are produced.
As well as a tour around the new headquarters the team enjoyed lunch with Heather in the BBC restaurant where they rubbed shoulders with several other TV personalities.
Heather Reid said "I'd like to offer my congratulations to the Boclair team 'Universitas' on their achievement and to wish them every success with their future plans."
Neil Henderson, co-ordinating teacher from Boclair Academy said " It is clear that the pupils have more confidence and now recognise that there may be career paths open to them that they had not previously considered, or thought were outwith their reach."
