Everyone accepted for training will receive full sponsorship to pay for your college fees and you'll even get paid while you study.

Who pays for my tuition fees?

When you contact and talk to your maritime Training Company, they will link you up with one of the shipping companies listed below who will sponsor you throughout all your college training and time at sea and then their aim is to offer you full time employment once you've qualified at the end of your full training. So no job hunting once you've finished college!

How much will I be paid when studying?

This will vary depending on your training provider. As an example, the current rates of pay for Clyde Marine Training are as follows:

There are two rates of pay depending on whether you are at college or at sea.

• At college you will be paid £160 per week.
• At sea you will be paid £120 per week.

During your final college term your pay will rise to £180 per week. There may also be bonuses available amounting to £1,000 over your training.

Don't forget that this is over and above your tuition fees which are sponsored by the shipping company.

Your Training Company will do all the hard work for you and arrange your company sponsor.
