Careers Scotland Information Sessions for 2006 Summer School Leavers
Last week Careers Scotland staff in Paisley hosted a series of Information events to provide this year’s school leavers with practical job-hunting hints and alert them to the wide range of Products & Services that Careers Scotland offer.
The Information sessions were open to both school leavers and their parents, and many parents responded positively to this invitation.
Refreshments were on hand while staff outlined the main services provided by Careers Scotland.
At the end of each session young people were given the chance to sign up for follow up sessions on ‘Employability skills’ – (e.g. how to compile a good CV; how to complete an Application Form well; and how to do your best in an Interview).
These options proved popular and a good number of each audience signed up for at least one employability session.
Margaret Baillie (Careers Scotland Team Leader) said:
"Because of the excellent response to our Information events this year, we hope to make them an annual fixture. Meantime, I would like to invite any summer leavers who were unable to come along last week to drop into our Careers Scotland Centre at 25 Causeyside Street at any time, when our staff will be happy to help them with their career planning."
"Alternatively, phone our National Helpline on: 0845 8 502 502, or visit our website at: www.careers-scotland.org.uk"’
