Why does this matter?
Some people still think that their race, age, disability or gender influences their choice of job. In the old days, these factors did affect your choice of job unfairly! These factors have nothing to do with a person's ability to do the job. The law now recognises this.
What do I need to do?
Restrictions from the past are now illegal so why limit yourself? You need to think about your abilities, interests and skills since they do influence your choice of job. Legislation has been put in place to protect people from discriminatory practices by employers and you can get support if you think you are experiencing discrimination.
